What is NJIT Capstone?

Project-based Real World Learning Experience

Capstone is a project-based learning experience where students work in multi-disciplinary teams to address a real world problem faced by a business, government agency or non-profit. Since launching in 2002, NJIT students have completed more than 1,200 projects supporting more than 700 organizations.

The student teams work directly with a contact at a company to learn about the issue the company is trying to resolve and develop an actionable solution.

Through the program students gain real-world work experience, problems solving skills and valuable team experience. The company mentor or sponsor meets with the students bi-weekly throughout the semester to monitor progress and answer questions.

It’s a perfect way to use the eco-system of a research university, a cohort of bright undergraduate and graduate students to augment your resources and maintain a lead over your competition.
