Below you’ll find answers to the questions we get asked the most about applying for the NJIT YWCC Capstone Project.  If you do not find the answer you are looking for please contact us and we will gladly answer any additional questions.

How can my company join the Capstone program?

Thank you for your interest in joining this select group of companies and organizations that benefit from the exceptional and talented students, and together achieve superior results. You can contact us by leaving your contact information by clicking here. You may also consider joining our mailing list, the Friends of YWCC to keep yourself aware of the latest developments, key projects, and available resources. How many projects can we sponsor?

We generally advise each sponsor to limit up to two teams every term. This could be waived if there are multiple groups/divisions or business units that will be sponsoring the proposed projects.

How big each team can be?

We generally suggest/allow each project team to have 3 or 4 members.

Is there any protection for information shared with students?

Each participating student is expected to sign a non-disclosure agreement that establishes an agreement between the sponsor, team members and capstone program. You could see our current NDA.

Are there any guidelines for sponsoring a project?

Please see our sponsor guidelines. Each sponsor is expected to complete the agreement.

How is this program different from an Internship?

A typical internship (or Co-op) opportunity will engage an individual student and have her/him work at the sponsor organization location in either individually or in a group setting. A capstone program is structured as a credit course that expects an industry-sponsored project within an academic setting that creates a learning opportunity leading to tangible benefits to sponsors.
