Sponsor Responsibility
I will do my best to understand, support and match the learning outcomes of the capstone program (The capstone uses real world projects learning to train students how to manage projects, define requirements, model solutions, use evolutionary prototyping methods (sprints) and improve product via ongoing feedback from project stakeholders.)
I will provide clear project requirements, reasonable expectations and feasible work.
I will attend capstone sponsors open house presentations to students and attend the midterm and the final showcase.
I will sign capstone agreement and accept NJIT capstone NDA that the students will sign.
I will complete sponsor evaluation form on time at the end of the semester. I understand that delaying this form may delay student’s grades.
I understand that I am working with students and not employees. I understand that students will do their best but they may need time to learn new things and their project must be feasible to their time and capabilities.
I will do my best to match students’ interests, backgrounds and dreams in my project even if that meant making some changes in the project scope.
I will communicate at least weekly with the students and respond promptly to their questions via email or phone.
I will facilitate any resources necessary to enable students to complete the project successfully.
I understand that I will be working with students who will be part of a learning experience and not professional employees. I am willing to take that risk.
I will do my best to accommodate students schedule with no negative impact on their other employment or school work.
I will provide career opportunities and recommendation letters for students with good performance in my project.
I will communicate with capstone leadership frequently regarding any problems I may encounter regarding the project or team members.
Please feel free to add any comments or suggestions regarding your participation in capstone or RWC programs.
